Rock Springs is on the way from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon. It is well known for a tourist trap that sells great pies. We, or rather I, was treated to a photo op - the take down of a drug runner by the Arizona Highway Patrol.
Then to Montezuma's Castle, a national monument of the Anasasi who lived there from 1,100 to 1,400 AD. They build the 5 story cliff dwelling for protection and to conserve the tillable land on the valley floor for farming their squash, beans, corn and cotton.
Then to our goal, sunset at the Grand Canyon. Fantastic!
